Alice rests on our two-week old lawn. I’ve been away from photography for almost a year—mostly because of a lack of time. Hopefully I can make up for it during the months to come.

Broken

Hello, everybody! Long time, no see. Sorry about that. I’ve had a long and lovely summer with lots of sun and swims in the ocean. Not much time for photography, though — and even less time for taking care of my web sites. I do however have some nice shots to put up during this fall.

Sadly my Nikon D70 finally died after a couple of weeks of acting up. The green access light of the compact flash slot just wouldn’t stop blinking. Hopefully this is an error of the circuitry connected to the exposure control, since Nikon has promised to fix those for free. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

The more gadgets you have the more likely it is that something breaks. Ain’t that the truth?

The heat has once more hit Malmö hard in the head and it’s very difficult to keep oneself from overheating. These days are best spent by the ocean, not in the city. On top of it all our freezer broke and depraved us of iced drinks. Damn it all to hell.

But I really like summer.

Motorola L7 SLVR

I’ve spent the last couple of days trying to get Windows Media Player to sync with my Motorola L7 SLVR phone, which of course turned out to be only partially possible. SLVR truly is a great phone, but an absolutely terrible mp3-player. The Java powererd interface is as slow as syryp in Siberia and it only manages to play songs encoded as 128 kbit/s mp3s. Crap. I might just have to get myself an iPod after all.

Västervik revisited

We spent the past weekend in Västervik, where we hung out with good friends and dined exceptionally well. We had a little get-together with our club (of sorts), which is so secret that Dan Brown should write a book about it.

It felt both sad and joyful to revisit the town that was our home for almost two years. Västervik will always hold a special place in our hearts — perhaps not so much because of the work we did there, but because of the atmosphere and scenery. Spring doesn’t look quite as green elsewhere and people aren’t quite as friendly. It’s too bad it isn’t possible to combine this pearl of the east coast with our lives in general right now. But there’s always tomorrow.

This shot is from Segersgärde — one of the top ten best places in the world.

Finally a technical note: Due to enormous amounts of spam I’m forced to moderate comments from now on. However, if you’ve written something somewhere among these pages before you should be pre-approved. Just make sure you’re consistent with the name and email address you use on the comment pages.

Where did the beautiful spring go?

This shot if from Hagalid (Staffanstorp), where out house is being built as we speak. I can’t wait until I’ll be able to drink my coffee on my very own porch.
